Any system of incarceration of offenders must balance a number of key criteria: Ensure the safety of the staff. Isolate those incarcerated from the outside world (except under strict and lawful supervision). Maintain the prisoners’ human rights and collective safety.

The challenges are many.  To assist governments to respond to that challenge The Densus Group offers a consultancy and training program that can develop prison systems from the ground up, or provide assessments of problems and assist in successfully resolving those problems. 

The current challenge of terrorist groups being incarcerated is being felt in many countries at present.  This challenge is difficult to overcome, not least because of the willingness of some terrorist groups to target prison officers, to ‘condition’ them into compliance. 

The Densus Group’s incarceration team has significant experience in dealing with terrorist and other ‘enhanced’ prisoner groups, and the challenges they present.  The team mixes appropriate psychological policies with experience and training to deliver an appropriate incarceration regime to any challenge.  All recommendations are human rights compliant.
