Audit

The audit practice was established to provide independent assessment in the use of force, both by private organizations, such as in the executive protection and related security fields, and by governmental organizations such as the police, military and prison services.

Our integrity and independence is our most valuable asset – we will not compromise  by conducting, and reporting, anything less than a thorough audit of the subject(s).

Our expertise base includes such diverse groups as Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary, various police and military forces from around the globe, all of whom can be committed to thorough investigation, detailed and diverse analysis and robust conclusions.

Financial Institutions

The audit practice works with financial institutions, primarily in the insurance and banking sectors, to verify the risk exposure they face in their underwritings and investments.  The threat to personnel and capital is high in some areas, and the provision of protection is a very competitive market.  It is not enough to simply provide protection, because a protection capability with low skills, few resources or little moral imperative may create greater exposure for the financial institutions than they understood.

The audit practice is able to support financial auditors who have a lack of subject matter expertise in this area.  Particularly in areas where doubts exist about risks faced in troubled regions and there are obligations for reporting under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act or similar legislation, there must be knowledgeable assessment by an independent party.

Government Departments

The audit practice works with Government Departments, such as a police department or a Mayor’s Office, to identify any operational issues within an organization responsible for the use of force.  An audit or investigation can be conducted into a specific incident or set of incidents, or into an organization.  An independent viewpoint can establish alternative means of viewing a problem, and propose new ideas for solving that problem.  Our global expertise base will contribute to that problem solving, at the client’s request.

Corporations engaging protection/use of force

The audit practice can work with those seeking to engage firms providing a use of force capability to provide informed, expert advice on which providers best match the contract requirements and risk profile.  By being independent we are able to maintain perspective on the industry.  Engaging us as advisors also demonstrates, if such a demonstration becomes necessary, that a firm took every precaution to engage the correct, responsible provider of protection for a given contract.
